The Court of Appeal, Abuja Judicial Division, on Friday, held that the counter-affidavit filed on behalf of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by his lead lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, is misleading.
With this verdict, the IPOB leader will remain in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.
The three-man panel led by Justice Haruna Tsanami has now ordered that the outcome of the appeal be forwarded to the Supreme Court within seven days for an expeditious hearing.
Recall that the federal government had filed the stay of execution of the judgement pending the determination of the substantive appeal at the Supreme Court.
Reacting to the court’s ruling, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a lawyer to Kanu, said Kanu’s legal team will challenge it.
