The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sympathised with victims of the train accident that occurred around past 7am on Thursday morning.
About 7 people were confirmed dead while 84 people sustained divers degrees of injury after a passenger train crushed a Lagos State Government staff bus on its way from Ikotun enroute Alausa, the state secretariat, at the PWD area of the state.
In a message on his Twitter account, Sanwo-Olu prayed for families of the victims and appreciated the efforts of the rescue team.
Following the train tragedy in the early hours of Thursday, the Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has cancelled all of the State’s public activities scheduled for Thursday
Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Segun Dawudu, stated this at a programme where the Governor was scheduled to meet over 2,000 youths.
Dawudu said the cancellation was in honour of the victims of the crash
